Social issues in Chile today

Chile today is not the same forty years ago. His economic growth has changed the society and his behavior. The chileans became consumist. Our country its called in route to development, we build enormous buildings, highway, malls. However still keeping and increase the inequality. Under a free market logical, our values has changed too. The individualism, the egoism, the competition and ambition are the virtues of today.
In this sense the inequalities in the system been generated discontent. In recent years we have seen a social wakeup, the people are willing to demonstrate and say what they want and do not want. The students protest march are a proof, his demands have focused the government agend. But is not the only social movement, people are flocking around issues and conflicts that are part, such as the environment, decent jobs, animal rights, sexual freedom or respect for indigenous people.
Regarding protests, the government has allowed and encouraged the excessive use of police force, this has meant that the marches in the streets turn into battles harming surrounding neighborhood, public infrastructure, and public safety.

Other social issues that have transcended the legislative sphere are tragic cases like Kevin Silva child who went to a marathon and was hit by a car whose driver was drunk, the boy survived but lost his legs, this created great national commotion which led to be quickly approved a law called "zero tolerance", which requires to have zero blood alcohol for driving. Another case was the Daniel Zamudio, a young gay man who was attacked and killed by a group of homophobic. Like the previous case caused great commotion which led to adopt anti-discrimination law, "law Zamudio", which not only protects homosexuals, but to all those who in any way may be violated in whole or discrimination.

Santiago City

Santiago it´s my city, I born and lived here mi entire life. This city it’s very interesting for my. It´s so fascinating because has a lots expression of social, cultural, and territorial phenomenons.
It is characterized by being a little chaotic, horrible traffic, crime and marked social differences. But it also has features that make it attractive and beautiful. Like the colonial architecture of the historic center, the San Cristobal hill for many santiaguinos has been complicit in our romances and has a magic that being there can feel giant looking almost the entire city. Within the city there are many beautiful and special places. Thanks to its architecture evoke the past and make you travel back in time, as the Lastarria´s neighborhood, Paris and London streets or New York street. Travel Santiago is an adventure.
Sometimes we forget that our city is surrounded by natural beauty extremely beautiful, maybe we smog obscures the beautiful landscape that is imposed in the east, the Andes Mountains.
But there are things I do not like for example public transport, is very unpleasant move in Santiago by bus or subway because in the rush hour is a collapse, even if you hang in your car, which is not cheap since fuel is expensive and also have to pay to use the roads if you want to move with greater agility, however these same collapse. I think this defect Santiago expresses a feature that highlights people who visit this city and we are always in a hurry and backward.
Despite this, in contrast to other people who do not like Santiago, I love to live in this city.

“Great Expectations”

This is a novel written by Charles Dickens in 1860. It´s one of the most important and famous works by Dickens, was adapted to plays and movies. It´s about a boy named Phillip Pirrip, called “Pip”. He is an orphan and lives with his sister and her husband. Later he had a benefactor who pays his education like a gentleman, but Pip didn’t know who this man was. This young man, fight for to be a person with most class like a gentleman to conquer Stella, she was his first and big love. He don´t like her, and married another man, but he died and finally on the novel Pip and Stella walked together taken hands, given us a great expectation to love.

Unfortunately I didn’t know this novel. In the school I don´t read this classic. But now I’m very interested. Seems a very passionate and intense story, I like the dramatic romance because the emotions are more stronger and the feeling of love is more pure.

I have a many "great expectations" for this semester, in the university I expect finally end my classes, because for many reasons I been delayed. So now I just want end this semester. In my family I’m so happy because every day I can see how grow my little daughter. She is so beatiful, when she smiles I forget all my worries. In the romance, I just expect what now I have, a life full of love and endearment.

Chinesse zodiac

First I want to say I do not believe in horoscopes, never examined her, do not believe in any kind of prediction of my life. Because I believe that no one but God knows what will happen to me. And my life and my future will I trust Him. So read the horoscope or believe in their predictions contradicts my faith. But as I have to do the homework, I tell you what says about the snake sign. According to the horoscope I am a snake, and these are the features:

Personality: Occupying the 6th position in the Chinese Zodiac, the Snake symbolizes such character traits as intelligence, gracefulness and materialism. When it comes to decision-making, Snakes are extremely analytical and as a result, they don’t jump into situations. They are effective at getting the things they want, even if it means they have to scheme and plot along the way.
Snakes are very materialistic creatures, preferring to surround themselves with the finest that life has to offer. This is especially evident in the home, where luxurious furnishings and surroundings help Snakes seek the peace they need in order to thrive.
Health: Snakes prefer living a life of calmness, preferring quietness over noise and a manageable workload rather than a schedule that’s overly-booked. Snakes become easily stressed when their lives aren’t peaceful or in order. Too much of this way of life can shorten a snake’s life!
Career: Snakes do work very hard, but they have a tendency to be job-hoppers as they become easily bored. Their somewhat laid-back attitude causes them to be mistakenly categorized as slackers, but nothing could be further from the truth! Snakes are very creative and extremely diligent. They’re excellent problem-solvers and thrive under tight deadlines. Good career choices for Snakes include: scientist, analyst, investigator, painter, potter, jeweler, astrologer, magician, dietician, and sociologist.
Relationships: Snakes are excellent seducers so they never have trouble attracting others. However, they’ll be the ones to decide when a relationship has potential and when it does not. Once they’ve chosen a partner, a Snake’s insecure side will begin to show through. Snakes guards their chosen partners much like a prized possessions, becoming jealous and even obsessive. Snakes prefer to keep their feelings to themselves. It’s important to never betray a Snake’s trust as a betrayed snake will make it a goal to get even some day!

The 2011 Christmas.

The Christmas of 2011 was, like all very special. I was with my husband, my parents, my brothers and sisters, and a surprise member will tell you later. I helped my mom to make dinner, we made an entry of lettuce with shrimp and the main course was roast beef and salmon. Before eating, praying, my dad asked the blessing for the food and thanked God when we remember his humble but wonderful birth. It was a very emotional and spiritual moment. Then my brothers ate too fast because they wanted to open his presents, and when we finished dinner with some of my brothers, elders, sang hymns of Christmas, was very nice. And we finally got to open presents. I make cookies for Christmas , and I also put the boxes where the cookie, is a very dedicated gift that reflects the love and sense of humility of Christmas, so there were many boxes of cookies, one for each. My mom bought all the gifts change and worked to keep us all more of a gift, this Christmas she spent that much money. But there was certainly a gift that moved us all, when all we had opened our presents and we were very calm and quiet, Pablo, my husband took a gift and began by saying...  this gift was for someone special and then I opened it I began to get the things that were inside ... a bottle, a package of diapers and baby bonnets. It was as if a bomb of laughs, jumps, cries and tears had exploded in the house. We gift to them a news, I'm expecting a nephew and a grandson.

Girlhood Chrismas

When I was a girl, very recently back, I enjoyed the Christmas very much. Before the 24th and 25th, because my mom adorned the entire house, was like the North Pole, all the house in green, red and golden. The Christmas tree was tall and full of ornaments. Also with my family go to the church, there we saw plays that told the story of Christmas. That was so touching and gave a clear meaning to this celebration. For me and my family the Christmas have a deep spiritual meaning, and we care to don’t forget this and teach to my other brothers and sisters. I remember the Christmas of my childhood as a time of reflexion and sharing love, time and gifts.

I remember one Christmas I got a bike and one for my brother, the main was green and his bike was pink, both don’t understand why, but anyway we don’t change ours bikes. Lot of fun and we played at the races. The Christmas was an opportunity to get something I want, but always had present the meaning of this celebration.
